226 Tri Alpba rri Alpha Club Strives to Reunify F or the members of Tri~Alpha, the year got under way as pledge week functions began early in the fall semester. New pledges participated in various activities, including dressing in club colors - purple and gold - throughout the week. An outing to Pizza Hut following rough night wrapped up a busy week for the girls. With club beaux acting as escorts, new members were formally inducted into the club in a Shores Chapel ceremony. Throughout the year. each member was given a week in which she did nice things for each beau, such as sending notes and cookies through campus mail. In late October, Tri-Alpha members worked the concession stand at a Bison football game. Club teams participated in bowling and volleyball. Meetings were occasionally held in the homes of the club sponsors, Rita Franklin and Alice Joyner. According to member Crickett Goldstein, members at these meetings felt they should "redo the constitution and try to promote the general weB-being of the club as a whole, for many members were not active during the semester. .. Prior to Thanksgiving vacation, a Pilgrim's party ·was held in the Bible building. Games were played and the girls red on a pot-luck meal while they elected May Fete representatives. 1.-2.
