Looking toward life after Harding Senioritu s ! A lth ough not found in Webster's Dictionary, it can be defined as "that point in life when one becomes disoriented to present surroundings and begins to think of life beyond graduation. " will be mentioned often from now on as graduates look back on "the good o le co llege days." Perhaps Homecomings wi ll then mean more than just football games and Queens. Thi s year almost Y4 of Harding' s stuctenr body was forced to prepare for that inevitable hOUf of pass ing from college student lO college graduate. The anticipated change was a feeling of apprehension combined with joy. In naming items of importance, peop le are always placed high on each senior' s li st. Occasionally a favor ite spot such as the lily pool or old gym carries a great deal of emotion. Even such req'uirements as cafeteria food and chapel are at times called favorab le memories . Senior Eric Schol from Pine Bluff, Ark. , commented on his thought s about graduation, "Halleluj ah! I'm glad to graduate but not really sure about what I'll be doing. It is searey since I've been in school for so long and don't know how I' ll make it. " Ji ll Pettie, sen ior from Huntsville, Ala., echoed his words, "It's exciti ng and scarey. Exciti ng because you are starting a new part of your li fe, but also scarey since you may not know what to do wit h [hat new start. It 's hard to imagine doing something besides go ing to school after 16 years of it every day . " Joe Alexander, who lives in Searcy, served as the .class president thi s year. Because of his work and a few money raising projects, the song books in the Benson Auditorium now include Harding's Alma Mater. Perhaps he best summed up the thoughts of most of the graduates, "Harding is a place for developing lots of goods friend s . I ' ll miss everybody . I especially hope a ll of the other graduating seniors will reach their goals . It was fun while it lasted , but it 's time to be movi n' on. " -Jimmy Allen Each senior will leave the Un iversity with different impressions, highlights and stories of the past few years.
