Whether or not you know it, members of Alpha Chi include people just like you. The Arkansas Eta Chapter of Alpha Chi was installed in 1957. It is just one of 211 chapters in the U.S. The organization was established in 1922 to promote and recognize superior academic achievement and those elements of character that make scholarship effective for good. At Harding, the qualifications for membership require a 3.70 cumulative average on 80 to 103 hours or a 3.50 average on 104 or more hours. During the school year, Harding's chapter sponsors its annual seminar on graduate study. Also, they sponsored a workshop dealing with effective study methods. Opportunities are given each member of Alpha Chi to present scholarly and creative works at the regional or national meetings. Since the .spring semester of 1958, Harding has been represented at these conventions by at least one member a year. This year's national convention was held April 2-4 at the Maxwell House in Nashville, Tenn. - Susan Pryor DR. JOE PRYOR wotches the procession ofnew memtiers as they enter the Heritage Auditorium.
