• 138 David Dowson, a native of Byron, Georgia, was a Bible major and a member of the Timothy Club, and played intercollegiate football for the Bisons. "My future plans," Dowson stated, "are to attend Harding Graduate School of Religion and preach the Word until I die." Who'. Who Economics major Sally Florence of Worthington, Ohio plans to work in a foreign country in international business and for the church. While attending Harding she was a member of the award winning Economics Team, the American Studies Program, and Delta Mu Delta. As a Spanish minor Sally was active in the Spanish Club and participated in Venezuelan Campaigns and was a member of the World Evangelism Forum and JOY . She was a member of Tri-Sigma Delta social club, and served in the office of vice president and treasurer. Sally also was on the Traffic Appeals Committee and in the cast of "Midsummer Night's Dream." "Harding has been very beneficial to my spiritual growth and to the understanding of myself and my personality," stated music education major Joli Gibbs. She is a native of S. Ouirino. Italv. JoU was a member of A Cappella and A Tempo. She was also active in dramatics as she was a cast member in "Brigadoon," "The Sound of Music," and"A Midsummer Night's Dream." With a French education major, jolj was a member of the French club. She was also an active member in JOY, Alpha Chi, Regina social club. and participated in Austrian and International Campaigns. Sharon Goetting was an English major and a member of Tri Sigma Delta social club. She was also a member of Alpha Chi, Sigma Tau Delta, and a reporter for the Blson_ She was a queen for Delta Omega and spent one Spring Break in St. Louis on campaigns. She was in two homecoming plays: The Sound of Music" and"A Midsummer Night's Dream." Sharon was selected Most Valuable Player for basketball in Intramural sports and was also on the Intramural All-Star basketball team. The native of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas stated, ". plan to teach secondary English . I think this is a good way for me to serve God because of the innuence 1 can have on my students." 9~§~ With a double major in history and speech, Philip Gould plans on entering law school after graduation from Harding. As part of the Debate and Speech Arts teams, he has won awards in contests at universities throughout the country. He served on the KHCA staff and the Petit Jean Staff. He was also a member of Pi Alpha Theta, Pi Kappa Delta, and Sigma Tau Delta. He belonged to the Frater Sodalis men'.., dub and the Spanish Club. After graduation from law school Philip would like to establish a legal practice and eventually get involved in politics on the state and national level.
