134 Forty-seven seniors were chosen for membership in Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. Each school sets its own requirements for membership in Who's Who. Eligibility al Harding requires a student to have earned 90 hours with a grade poim of 2.50 or higher. A student may receive this honor only oncc. Usually between 100 and 150 names of seniors who meet the requirements are compiled by the Student Association and faculty for consideration. This list is then sent out to all faculty members who select 47 candidates. The lists are tallied thus designaling the recipients of this award. The names of those chosen are sem lO the national headquarters of Who's Who in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for confirmation. Who's Who began in 1934 when 1. P. Randall established this award to recognize outstanding slUdems. Who's Who Definitely out to spread the Word is Albert Acosta of El Paso, a Biblical Languages major. He was involved in Campaigns in Austria one year and Venezuela two years as student leader. Albert resided as president of the World Evangelism Forum and was an R.A. for two years. He also made the Dean's List and received a scholarship two years for leadership in evangelism. After a year's break from school, Albert is going to Memphis for his Master's degree. Then he and his wife plan to move to Latin America and work on their goal of revealing "the true historical and living Jesus to the big cities of South America, and to build up the church there (first in Caracas) after the spirit of the New Testament church." A marketing major from Searcy, Arkansas, Joe Alexander commented, .. After graduation in May. I plan to go to graduate school to earn a master's degree while specializing in the area of marketing research:' Joe was a member of TNT social club, particapted in intramurals, American Studies, and May campaigns. He also served as class president of his Senior class. Student Association Married Students Representative, Tom Alexander was a Bible major from Adleiade. South Australia and Seart'y. He was active in Australian campaigns and was devotion director of Chi Sigma Alpha social club. Tom certified to teach Physical Education. WhUe at Harding he was an Intramural all-star and a member of the Pemm club. He also was president of the freshman class, in Chorale and a Beaux for Phi Delta womens club. In discussing future plans, Tom remarked. "My future plans are for Jeannie and I to get together with a group of friends and end up living in the Northeast. We just want to spend our lives touching other people with the real life we have found." '" feel that Harding is a great place to come to prepare and to get a more concrete idea of how to be about the Father's business," remarked Steve A'wtrey.Steve is a Bible and journalism major from S1. Louis, Missouri. He was also a member of TNT social club and beau for Delta Theta Epsilon and Chi Alpha Rho. To better prepare for his career as a vocational missionary, he served as a member of the Timothy Club, Operation Tabernacle, Conquerors, KHCA Religious Staff, vicepresident of the World Evangelism Forum and president of Big Buddies. He also attended the Spring Break Campaign in SI. Louis and the May campaigns. As a reponer for the Bison staff, he received Cub Reporter of the Year 1979. 'Steve's preparation for graduate work in Mass Media included being a member of the Society of Collegiate Journalism and Public Relations. He held the honor of be. ing on the Dean's List and was a recipient of the Mission/Prepare Scholarship, the Ezell Scholarship and the Russell Simmons Junior Scholarship.
