Prof. A bridal show and spring banquet finished off the very active year for Harding's AHEA. Aside from her duties as the school's AHEA leader, Miss Deacon was also installed as the state chairwoman in the spring. The Dietetics Club functioned mainly as an organ to spread the news about proper food nutrition and eating habits. The club, for dietetics majors only. consisted of 12 active members along with sponsors Mrs. Beth Wilson and Dr . Mildred Bell. The club participated in many activities during the year in an attempt to increase members' knowledge in their field . A field trip to Little Rock consisted of touring the University of Arkansas Medical Center, where two Harding graduates worked as dietetics interns. The group'. major undertaking was a spring activity in connection with the month of March, deemed "National Nutrition Month." A film was shown in the Searcy community· to increase parental knowledge on the subject of nutritional snacks for children. On campus, materials and posters were placed in strategic locations such as the cafeterias to inform students about good eating habits. In speaking of the dub, president Kerri Bullard, a junior from Searcy, said, "It gives me a chance to talk with others looking for the same professional goal. We can exchange ideas, meet other people and generall y broaden our persepctive of the entire field." The club also placed a representative on the Student Association Food Committee. - Jimmy Allen 1.
