Sub·Deb chooses new sponsor 330 Pledging and rough night marked the beginning of a new year for the Sub~Deb social club. The ten girls who pledged SubDeb attended the formal tea on Thursda y, October 5, at T racy Romine 's, where they received the traditiona l hats and canes. On Fr iday night , pledges met at the home of Ger ri Hale, where special green make-up app lied to their faces added the final touch to the dresses stuffed with pi ll ows wh ich they wo re to the ball game. Followi ng the game, the Sub-Debs and their pledges went to Amy Woodroof's farm for rough night activ ities and a bunking party. Social Clubs The Sub~De bs enjoyed a banquet at Mrs . Harri s's Ca fe teria on December 1. To help open the holiday season they chose the theme "Santa 's Workshop. " Entertainment was provided by Mrs. Mary Ann Harris, the new sponsor, and her husband Lee , who sang. Following the banquet a Chr is tmas party was held at Nan No rwood 's house. There jolly ole St. Nicho las (Mr. Harold No rwood) distributed gi ft s to the dates. The Sub~Debs ' ma jor activities were concluded by a picnic in the spring. Sub-Deb beaux, Randy Richey and Bret Shirl ey, encouraged the club by treating them to donuts and by coaching them in club intramu ral s.
