" Spiritually, Shores Chapel was the place ~or Spiritual Life Committee meetings, various speaking engagements, club devotionals and inspirational singing. Even weddings were held there. In the curricular area, the Book Exchange, conducted by TNT and Zeta Rho social clubs, was held every semester in Shores Chapel. Some classes also were held there. The social activities that took place in Shores Chapel were club meetings along with other meetings. Couples often found this an acceptable place to chat , get out of the cold, and pray together. Late-night Bison and Petit f eatl staffers often caught a few hours of sleep there in the wee hours of the morning and nicknamed it "Snores" Chapel. A few, however, had a mortal fear of going to sleep there and waking up during the middle of a class the next morning. Dave Hogan , yearbook photographer, did just that once. SACKED out 0 11 the pews of "S,lOrt' ~ Chapel," three late-/light workers try to get a little rest. Shores Chapel was a cozy, outof-the-way place where groups or individuals could find privacy for a short time. And on a campus as large and busy as Harding'S, this met a definite need . - Boo Mitchell t1rl
