I 242 Beth Harp • rezgns over May Festival "one of the things I'm most grateful for from Harding is the fact that when I graduate, I'n have friends all over the world. And I believe this is preparing me for life, teaching me to deal and relate with people. I really feel that my experiences at Harding have well-equipped me for what is to come ." These comments from May Queen Beth Harp concerned her long range plans to do mission work in Ireland with her future husband, Monte Cox. Beth believed her background prepared her to adapt to her future lifestyle . "I believe my whole life has been building up to this - preparing me, " she said. "My mom and dad have always raised us to be full~time Christians - not necessarily in the full-time mission sense but they stressed that in whatever our occupation might be, our Christianity should be full-time." A junior, Beth served as president of Regina and as a member of the Student Association's Spiritual Life Committee. Three years in A Cappella prompted this comment, "My work with the A Cappella under Dr. Kenneth Davis meant a great deal to me. Being surrounded by Christian friends when traveling with the group was one of the most valuable parts of my time at Harding. " Attending Beth on the May Court were senior Shirley Wilkerson, a transfer from Alabama Christian College and a special education major, and LaDonna England, a member of GATA and junior women 's representative to the Student Association . tllil May Fete Royalty ~ I' .
