Kevin Pope Kevin Pope of Springfield, Missouri completed a biology major in preparation for attending medical school after graduation, with plans to become a physician. Maintaining a high scholastic average throughout his years at Harding, Kevin was named to Alpha Chi and served as its president for two years. He received the Alfred H. Nolle Scholarship Award given by the National Council of Alpha Chi and was the recipient of the Duane Priest Premedical Memorial Scholarship. Kevin was a member of Galaxy social club and was elected president and also served as devotional director. He was also a beau for Galaxy's sister club, }u Go }u. Chuck Posey History major Charles Posey considered his greatest experiences to be those shared with the members of the A Cappella chorus , particularly when singing through Europe on International Campaigns. Charles made it his goal to participate in many of the activities offered at Harding. Business Manager of the Bison for two years, he was elected as class treasurer his junior and senior years. He was treasurer and historian for his social club, TNT, whose sister club, Zeta Rho, elected him as a beau. Charles also served as Student Association senior men's representative and as coordinator of the annual S A -TNT Book Exchange. Kathy Reichel Katharina Reichel came to Harding from Munich, West Germany. A member of A Cappella, she visited her homeland and Great Britain with International Campaigns. She was inducted into Alpha Chi and Kappa Pi honor societies. Katharina represented her social club, Zeta Rho, in all club sports. An art major, she hopes to work in the area of commercial art or as a designer. Howard Rimer Because of his academic excellence in maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, Howard Rimer received the Hammon Scholarship, membership in Alpha Chi and was named to the Dean's List. Howard said he believed that the interest he showed in his studies encouraged the teachers to do their best as well. "I have taken my class work seriously," he commented, "and this has been seen by my instructors. " A Bible major who is older than most students, Howard stated, "Most of my teachers have been more than instructors. They have been friends, peers, advisors." From Harding where he was Timothy Club member and the athletic director for Theta Alpha Gamma social club, Howard plans to attend the Harding Graduate School of Religion in Memphis where he has been granted an academic scholarship. Liz Sears "I enjoy the theatre, especially the opera, " said English major Elizabeth Sears of her interest in dramatics. An active participant in dramatics at Harding, Elizabeth was involved with Campus Players, Readers' Theatre, intercollegiate speech arts and intramural speech arts. A member of Alpha Chi, she also held membership Alpha Psi Omega, Sigma Tau Delta and the French Club. After graduation she plans to work temporarily, preferably in a public relations job. "Eventually," she said, "I want to go on to graduate school and then teach on the college level." (continued on page 234) 233 Who's Who
