Doug Fonville "Caving has been one of the most enjoyable activities I have been involved with. Sometimes, it gets rather muddy, but the sights and the sense of adventure make it worth the trouble," stated senior Doug Fonville. After tackling a double major in Spanish and journalism, Doug then elected to complete teacher certificate requirements in the former. He gained journalism experience by working on the Bison and Petit lean staffs and by holding membership in the Society for Coll egiate Journalists. He also was a member of Beta Phi Kappa social club, the Spanish Club , the Cenark Studen t Grotto - the caving club, and was inducted into Alpha Chi. A talented photographer, Doug hopes to work in the photographic field. Kendra Gorrell Sandyville, West Virginia native Kendra Gorrell was a member of GATA social club. She participated in the Big Sisters program, the Dactylology Club and Northwest Campaigns. A social work major, she also was a member of the Cenark Student Grotto the Petit Jean staff and the National A;sociation of Christians in Social Work. Kendra's interest in serving others led her to serve as chairman of JOY, as secretary for the World Evangelism Forum and as a member of the Hot Line staff. After spending a year with her parents, Kendra plans to go to the state of Montana with a mission group. Mitch Hamric A transfer from Alabama Christian College, Mitch Hamric was a pre-physical therapy- general science major. From Huntsville, Alabama, Mitch was a member of Chi Sigma Alpha social club. He was distinguished as a member of the musical trio, The Time of Day, which represented the school throughout the United States in recruiting students. "I like the recruiting as much as the performing aspect of being in the Time of Day," said Mitch. "We try to encourage the kids we play for to attend a Christian college if they have the option of doing so, but especiall y we try to encourage Harding. We know we are pushing a good cause." Jeff Hobbs Alpha Chi member Jeff Hobbs was a Bible major from Fayetteville. Transferring from Northeastern Oklahoma State University, he participated extensively in intercollegiate debate and was president of Pi Kappa Delta. A Timothy Club member, Jeff plans to attend Harding's Graduate School of Religion in Memphis. Mark Hudson "My interest in music ... has governed my life for. a long time and has been almost my only activity here at Harding, " stated music education major Mark Hudson. Mark's musical endeavors included partiCipation in all areas of the band - playing in the concert, marching, pep and stage bands and serving as drum major - and vocal groups - A Cappella, Chamber Singers and Chorale, Also a member of the orchestra and A Tempo, Mark said, "I tried to be as involved as possible in a wide variety of musical activities in order to learn as much as possible." Director of the stage band, Mark was selected as the outstanding junior of the Harding band for 1978-79. Carolyn Jackson Delta Chi Omega social club president Carolyn Jackson from Williston, South Carolina was active ly involved while at Harding, An elementary education major, Carolyn was involved in JOY, SNEA, the flag corps, and worked on the BisoH staff. In addition, she was a member of Alpha Chi and Kappa Delta Pi.
