The list of movies shown this year read like a list of past and present Oscar nominees and winners. The fall slate of movj es included "Jaws," "Superman," "Heaven Can Wait" and "Capricorn I." With the opening of the Benson Auditorjum in January was the double feature showing of "Rocky students," said secretary Boyd Jones. "But unless we know what is going on through the input of students, we cannot be as effective as we would like to be ." ~ Sophomore represe; tative Lance Curtis agreed. "Most of what we do is on a day to day basis, meeting the complaints of students or helping them with a problem." Where movies were concerned, for the usual $1 admission price the student knew he was getting the most for his entertainment dollar. Beyond entertainment Beyond the field of entertainment, the SA depended on student input to know what the students viewed as problems. "Our purpose is to help and take care of the gripes and problems of the better place." Stamatis summed his thoughts up by saying, "Without contact and input from the student body we are making a mockery of being a representative organization." Setting an example Yet, Stamatis made it clear early in the year that setting a good example was highest on his list of priorities for the SA. "If we accomplish putting forth the right kind of example before the student body and do nothing else, we will have been extremely successful. " Looking back over the year Stamatis explained, "We really didn't choose any major area to concentrate on. When you do that other things fall down and break apart. "It's not the major things that you get done - it's the little things that you keep going, keep working on and acomplishing that amount up to big things. "We've tried to have an overall program - the spiritual, the social aspect. The movies have been good and there have been opportunities for spiritual growth.
