For the past 2S years Herman Spurlock has been Harding's chief engineer. With 25 people under his management , he is responsible for maintenance of all campus plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical works. Spurlock grew up in Williford, attending school there until 1949 when he came to Harding. As with the newly-completed Benson Auditori um, Spurlock has been called upon often to install the electrical, heating and lighting systems for new buildings on campus. 'Tve worked on every building on the campus except Pattie Cobb," he proudly stated . Of the Benson project Spurlock said, ''That whole building was an interesting job because of the height.
