The STAR pledging activities for the seven enthusiastic new members resulted in their winning the Spirit Award at the Wildcat-Palestine football game . After the game, rough initiation was held at the home of Rene Lee. The Spirit Award wasn't the only honor obtained by the STAR's. They also won the intramural softball tournament. The Spirit of Christmas permeated the December activities. At the Christmas party held at the home of Carren Clark, the members exchanged gifts and had their pictures taken with Santa Claus. The group made a money tree and with the money collected, bought Christmas gifts for a needy family. The major activity of the year was the STAR banquet held on February 17. STAn STAR ~ 315
