I hoped to make class, as well as club, a unifying force," reflected class president Gary McClanahan of Ardmore , Oklahoma. "Starting over as a first-year student is hard , however, and with a class this diverse , it was really difficult to organize. For others, college was a challenge to maintain a standard of action and awaren~ss they developed earlier. One effort to unify students was the Halloween Spook House sponsored by the class during Odober. The venture utilized the talents of drama department makeup artists to transform participants into "spooks." During the Homecoming pep rally, the freshman noise gained the class the spirit stick.
