Kappa Phi ; Oeon's list . move over StQtlers. it'S the Kellertones 244 ~ Seniors What campus singing group started by harmonizing in the shower, lives in Ke ller Hall and would like to be rei ncarnated as the Statler Brothers? It's the Kellertones, singing barber shop style to provide entertainment mixed with a little comedy . Amos Allen , Ted Hackney, Jake J ensen , Tim Olree , Mike Parkey, David Perkins and Brad Watson began harmonizing on some Christmas songs in the fall of 1977. All the guys live on Keller third floor and all but Jake are in TNT social club. The Kellertones' first public appearance came when they gave a surprise Christmas concert in Patti Cobb cafeteria in December 1977 . A few days later, in the same cafeteria, th ey ass isted th e Harbin Players , from first floor Harbin Hall, to present the ''Twelve Days of Christmas ." The Kellertones sang as the Players acted out each "day. " Since then the Kellertones have performed at club banquets , parties and the "Second Annual Patti Cobb Christmas Show." Their performances range from funny to not too serious . Often the music has been altered to fit the occasion. Here is one selection from their rendition of South Pacific's "Nothin' Like a Dame:" "We get packages from home, we got movies, we got shows , "We get orders from our skipper and advice from Dr. Joe. " Rehearsals were the most fun for the Kellertones .
