Rella ~ a cappella ~ a ca ~ ~pp~lIa ~ a cappella ~ il-&-appell Many people across the nation, and the world, think of the A Cappella Chorus at the mention of Harding College This group is the only contact with the school for some people . It is considered an honor to be selected as a member of the A Cappella . Auditioning, which involves competition with many students to earn one of the envied places in the tor, took the group on fall weekend trips, including one to Oklahoma in October and one to Texas in November. A more extensive tour was made on spring break to New York and New Jersey. Summer plans were for a portion of the group to participate in a two-week overseas campaign for Christ on the British Isles. Afterwards, they were to tour Europe and Poland with the Medical A new record was released in the spring to honor L. O. Sanderson. Hymns , as well as regular choral music, were an in.tegral part of the program. Bi1I Arquitt, a new member of A Cappella, described his experience with the group: "It's exciting for me to be a member of a group that is so professional in its music attitudes and that can also add to one's faith in God ." Many who planned to audition for choral groups, such as this one, attended a music camp at Camp Tahkodah a week before classes began in August. Another highlight of the year was a professional experience . The A Cappella travelled to Memphis, Tennessee to perform with the Memphis Opera Theatre in Macbeth and Othello. 1.
