" Thi s is going to take forever ." Does this sound familiar? These plus similar comments have.been expressed many times concerni ng one of t he most feared and hated aspects of Harding, long lines. We have all stood in them, complained about them, and tr ied to avoid them . They range from Iunch to registrat ion, and seem to get longer each year. Every student is famili ar with the tired legs, aching feet , and general run-down feel ing you experience. And THE FIRST WEEK of school tinds students lined up throughout the American Heritage Center as they attempt to register. of course, you can always think of ten million things you wou ld rather be doing. There is a good side to long lines , however. They give you a chance to tal k w ith o ld friends and make new and lasti ng ones. And then , we all know that pati ence is a virtue. The lines are an excell ent way to prove this phil osophy. Many attempts have been made to sho rten the lines , such as prereg istration, two times for lunch and others. However, with the increase of students each year and other factors, it seems that long lines are here to stay Like many other things, t hey have become a " necessary evil " to college life.
