1976-1977 Yearbook

All-American flonors go to Block Harding senior Mike Black of Dallas, Tex. was named to the first unit of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics 1976 All-America team December 15. The 6-3, 240-lb. offensive tackle also received AllArkansas Intercollegiate Conference and AII-NAIA District 17 honors along with defensi'(e end Adrian Hickmon, defensive back Randy Tribble, and offensive backs Jeff Smith and Joe David Smith. Hickmon was awarded honorable mention status on the NAIA AllAmerica squad. The 6-4, 220-lb. Searcy native had ten quarterback sacks and two fumble recoveries to his credit. In the tackling department, he was responsible for 94 takedowns, 37 of which were unassisted hits. In other honors on a national scope, the Smith duo of Jeff at quarterback and Joe David at tailback and wide receiver were named to the Associated Press All-America team with honorable mention status. Jeff led the AIC in individual total offense with 1768 yards. Joe David was the conference's top rusher and pass receiver, catching 44 aerials for 596 yards.
