Graduate After awarding the Master of Arts in Teaching degree since the graduate program was begun in 1954, the Graduate Council changed the degree to the Master of Education in August, 1975. In the spring of 1976, the program was expanded to include certification as an Elementary School Principal. Upon the retirement of Dr. Nyal Royse in Mayas Director of Graduate Studies, Dr. Wyatt Jones joined the faculty in this capacity, bringing many years of experience in teacher education from Pepperdine University.
