3 Hendrix Building, computer installation update department Launching the baccalaureate degree program in nursing was the highlight of 1975-76 for the Natural Science Division. Dedication ceremonies for the Olen Hendrix Building - the renovated Old Science Building providing modern facilities for nursing and home economics - were held September 20 with Congressman Ray Thornton giving the dedicatory speech. The Biology Department received a $13,215 · NSF grant to conduct a summer wofkshop for elementary science teachers conducted by Dr. George Woodroof and Bill Rushton. The Physical Science Department participated with the University of Arkansas and several other colkges in a NSF-supported traveling instrumentation laboratory. Dr. Don England was accepted into Sigma Xi, a national research society. Installation of the PDT-ll Model 45 DEC computer facilitated the work of the Mathematics Department. Drs. Steve Smith and Bill Oldham spoke at Name of Site meetings of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. 1. NURSING student Kathy Steffins checks vital signs in the customary clinical work. 2.
