Academy performers approve constitution, form theatrical group Dropping the national Thespian charter brought about the formation of a new organization, the Royal Academy Players. Miss Patti Williams, the club's sponsor, drafted a constitution which opened membership rolls to all students associated with school-sponsored theatrical production. The Players presented a one-act drema, "The Other Side of the Wall," the first Academy play produced and directed entirely by students. Superintendent Perry Mason was recognized for 30 years of service by the Future Homemakers of Amen"ca ~ith the presentation of a handmade patchwork quilt. The club completed the quilt at two fall sewing and piecing parties and presented it in chapel December 10. Under the supervision of Miss Ruth Browning, the Library Club determined which books and periodicals had the widest circulation among the student body. Members reminded students of overdue books by typing notices and taping them in lockers. By checking in books and keeping magazines in order, the club reduced the librarian's work load. Visiting one of Arkansas Power and Light Company's generating plants provided the Science Club with the opportunity to observe the production of electricity. 312 / SPECIAL INTEREST J r
