Bisons claim four' Honorable Mention Ale All-Americans Finishing their first losing season in recent years, the Bison grid team turned in a 4-6 overall record and a 3-4 conference mark. The team, showing much enthusiasm and future potential, placed fifth in the AIC behind vuachita, Henderson State, Southern State, and Central Arkansas. Four Bisons received the honor of being named Honorable Mention AIIAmerican by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Those honored were Ted Walters (full back), Mike Black (offensive tackle), Randy Miller (linebacker), and J. D. Smith (returned specialist). Randy Miller was ranked the number one tackler in NAIA Division 1 with 16.8 tackles per game. J. D. Smith set an individual record for the most total yards gained and most yards gained rushing by running for 284 yards against UA Monticello. Due to a good recruiting season, several rookie athletes saw considerable action. Coach Prock's 1976 Bisons have a favorable outlook this year with several experienced lettermen returning and new recruits. 250 / FOOTBALL
