Departmental clubs make trips, enjoy year of activities Beginning the fall semester with a welcome party for all interested students, Spanish Club members enjoyed a full year of activities. The club sponsored the Spanish film, "Don Quixote" on November 17 and made a trip to Casa Bonita in April. Highlighting the year with a tour of the quarters in New Orleans, the French Club enjoyea a full year of activity. During meetings, members heard guest speakers, viewed foreign language films and discussed aspects of life in French countries. Members of the Art Guild held several Third Drawer sales in which products such as ceramics, macrame , and paintings were sold. A booth displaying various art goods was constructed at the Arkansas Arts and Crafts Fair in Little Rock. Senior art majors held shows throughout the year with their art work on display. The Student National Education Association informed the future teachers of the current educational issues and encouraged Christian professionalism in the field of education. Members of SNEA heard speakers at monthly meetings discuss topics such as writing resumes, filling out applications, and handling discipline problems in school. A Christmas party for underpriviledged children was one of the highlights ofthe year. A career workshop, sponsored by AHEA, enabled students to hear guest speakers on career opportunities in the home economics and related fields. Members of the group held a Christmas party for the college men and young boys participating in the Big Brothers program and acted as guides for the open house of the Olen Hendrix building. Beginning early in the fall with a reception for music students, the A Tempo Club was involved in several activities which included attending operas in Little Rock and Memphis and touring a piano factory in Conway. A highlight of the year was the January appearance of Dr. Herman Finkelstein of the American Association of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. 234 / DEPARTMENTAL
