Choral Festival and tours provide groups with experiences Chorale members participated in the 10th annual Christian College Choral Festival held on campus January 9-10. Nine choruses from Christian colleges performed in the event that blended 430 voices. Dr. George Lynn. a composer from Denver who has written music for Harding's musical groups, was the clinician. Chorale combined with A Cappella and the Arkansas Symphony for its first performance of the year. The consolidated groups performed Beethoven's Ninth (Choral) Symphony on October 7 before a capacity crowd . Under the direction of Clifton Ganus III, Chorale toured Arkansas and Texas in December. Performances during the October lectureship and at the Black and Gold Banquet in December began a busy year for the Chamber Singers. The group, selected from members of the Chorale, traveled to area high schools during the year and took part in the January Choral Festival. The group was directed by Clifton Ganus III. Because of the large number of singers in Chorale and A Cappella another group, Campus SingerS. was formed for a\lyone interested in singing. Although it was a new group, the members were enthusiastic about their singing, and participation was high. Kenneth Davis directed the group. 220 / MUSIC GROUPS
