Good bench depth sparks Bisons to successful season With the addition of several exciting and skilled rookies, the 1974 season proved itself to be a very productive year for the Bison baseballers. Gary Harris, a talented freshman third baseman, led the team in home runs. Tony Sneed, a transfer junior who played most of the season at first base, and Vince Adams, a freshman who helped with the depth in the outfield, were also among the top first-year men. Lynn Chaffin, Randy Kirby and Ronnie Allison were the strong returning lettermen for Harding. Coach Dick Johnson's Bisons had a team average of over .300, one of the best in the tough Ale.'
