Harding builds on superior talent in aU five postitions Sixth year coach Jess Bucy and third year assistant coach Wilt Martin were disappointed by the outcome of many close AIC games. The Bisons finished under .500 in 1975, but built upon new talent and exceptional scoring and rebounding abilities. With the exception of a few games, Harding was never out of the picture until the final seconds of their contests. Losses to Henderson State, Arkansas Tech, State College, and Southern State added up to a combined deficit of five points. When the team was at their best, they were unstopable. Several games showed the Bison to be a determined team. A last second win over rival David Lipscomb 85-83 and a 101-95 victory over Arkansas Tech exhibitied the team's potential. 1. CUTTING inside of his defender, Gary Baker moves in for a score. 2. AIMING at his favorite basket, Butch Gardner adds two points for the Bison. 3. TIPPING in the rebound, James Winston adds to his average. 4. PULLING in the missed shot, Joey Williams out moves his opponent. 5. CONCENTRATING on game strategy, Coach Jess Buey takes time to study the visiting team. BASKETBALL I 257
