Rookie swim team ranks 3rd in State swim championship Competing for the first time this summer for the Academy, Harding's portion of the Searcy Swim Club, Miller's Killers, achieved satisfactory results. Started two years ago with the coming of college Head Coach Arnold Pylkas , the club is now sponsored by Searcy Recreational Director, Harry Miller, a Harding graduate. High point of the summer schedule was the Arkansas State Swimming and Diving Championship held at UALR. The team managed to win third place with a total score of 22 points. In the Junior high division, Jon Yingling qualified in four events and finished third in the lOO-yard breaststroke. setting a new team record. Robert Ulrey, Jon Yingling, Danny Campbell and Greg Greene finished third in the 2OO-yard medley relay. Chris Davis and Kevin Bullard took second place in the Senior diving event with scores of 165.85 and 154.75, respectively, for six dives. 1. SWIM TEAM.
