Personal discovery deepens insight into student's world Advancing scholastically , the Academy students also found themselves involved in other facets of school life. Sports claimed a large portion of their time, with strong bonds growing out of the common goals. Students helped out with stage design, preparation of the Homecoming float and community projects centering around the Sunshine School. Service to others and new friendships increased the students' interaction with their fellowmen. A unique bond of friendship was forged , a common spirit bound them in purpose: time was made for quiet moments with special friends, or to be alone; spiritual insight was found in nature, personal insight was found in exploring their own environment; companionship grew out of adventurous escapades and simple experiences. Students were swept up into the excitement of life, and the exhilaration of being alive, and free. 1. HAPPINESS 9'OWS as Robin Bales and Billy Martin share a special moment. 2.
