Social club rivalry, individual contests set intramural pace A variety of athletic events provided by the intramural program offered something for everyone. The program, under the direction of Cecil Beck and Mrs. Barbara Barnes, included individual, team, class and club contests. Club bowling was removed from the points system to retain fairness and equality of competition. The clubs continued to bowl in competition but on a friendly basis. Speedball replaced Spasketball for the women bringing about an increase in participation. Trophies, awards and letter jackets were awarded to winners in both team and individual events. At least 80 percent of the student body participated in the 3S events offered to make 1974 one of the best years for the intramural program directors. INTRAMURALS / 279
