Outstanding year lists 17 names for recognition in Ale Participating in all nine AICsanctioned sports, Harding's list of outstanding individual performers for the past year was impressive. From the 1973 Bison football team Tom Ed Gooden , quarterback, received first team NAlA All-American , AIINAlA District 17, and All-Ale. Alan Dixon , tailback , made All-American honorable mention, AII-NAIA District 17, and All -Ale. Barney Crawford was also an All-American honorable mention defensive tackle , AII-NAIA District 17, and All -Ale. Jack Barber, split-end; Rodney Echols, defensive back; and Larry Richmond, defensive end, were other AII-NAIA District 17 and AII-AIC performers. AII-AIC baseball players were shortstop Randy Kirby and outfielder Lynn Chaffin. Mark Trotter was the AlC diving champion and Paul Knarr won the AIC 2oo·yard butterfly. Mark Galeazz. , Larry Butler, Matt Comotto , Robert Mead and Joe Shepherd finished among the top 10 AlC Cross Country runners.
