Youthful net team makes strong bid in Ale tennis race A young but eager group of Bison tennis players. directed by first-year coach Dean Bawcom. proved to be a stronger challenge in the AIC than preseason reports indicated. Sporting a fresh look with three freshmen . one sophomore and two juniors. the Harding netters were not considered a threat in the league race at the season's open, but some upsets and close matches gave the Bisons a darkhorse status for the conference championships. Freshman Charles Ganus topped the Number Four position entries as the team finished fourth in the final standings. Harding managed a deceiving 8-8 season match record in which four of the losses were decided by a one-point margin.
