Six Bisons headline state all-star teams after stellar year Post-season honors went to six Harding gridders who copped All-AIC and All-NAJA District 17 laurels. Included in the all-star group were quarterback Tom Ed Gooden. tailback Alan Dixon and wingback Jack Barber from the offensive unit and tackle Barney Crawford. end Larry Richmond and cornerback Rodney Echols from the defense. Gooden paced the league in passing with a 775-yard aerial total. Dixon went over the 4.000-yard career rushing mark with a I.027-yard season effort. The speedy Barber topped the AIC receving and scoring lists with 33 catches for 578 yards and 68 points. A big 6-5. 235-lb. junior. Crawford headlined the Bison "quarterback sack" list with nine tackles behind the scrimmage line. The scrappy Richmond outfoxed opposing ballcarriers and notched up more than 80 tackles for the year.
