Bison ride offense to winning season, finish high in Ale The Hard ing foot bailers posted their fifth straight .500·or-plus season with a 7-3 record and a second-place tie in the always tough Ale grid race. Facing the toughest schedule in the school's IS-year football history, the 1973 Bisons scored 21S points to opponents' combined 120-point total. Employing both the wishbone ground assault and the proset air strategy, the John Prock-coached Bisons mounted a double-barrelled offensive attack that netted five yards a play and more than 340 yards per game to lead the conference in total .offense. The team garnered national rankings in pass defense, total offense and rushing. Bison defensive backs limited opposing offenses to an average of 64.6 yards per game.
