Girard Project Care aids African famine victims Sixteen charter members of Zeta Phi adopted the motto, "In Purity There Is Value" in the fall of 1961. The club was formed to meet the needs of a growing and expanding student body at Harding and provided a social and service outlet for its members. This year pledges were initiated in October during a service at the First Security Bank, bringing the club membership to 40. Zeta Phi's were cheered on by their brother club, Mohicans, when they competed in inter-club sports. In late October they joined their brothers in collecting food items for the underprivileged before enjoying a Halloween party. Zeta Phi's adopted Project Care as a service project to help the underprivileged in famine struck West Africa.
