Cline 90% participation given in Blood Drive "Obedience, Earnestness, Godliness and Efficiency" are the nouns from which Oege derived its name in 1947. They chose as their emblem four connecting circles, each containing a letter of the name, signifying the bond of friendship between the members. Oege felt it could best accomplish mutual self improvement by stressing social development and service to God and to others. The club was awarded a plaque by the Red Cross Blood Center for having 90 percent participation in the fan drive. Added services included sending cards and short notes to widows and shut-ins, and they also lent a helping hand where needed. An outing to Petit Jean mountain, which featured an Easter egg hunt, helped to draw the girls closer together. To show their love for each other they met every Friday morning and had breakfast together.
