S.A. aids student body, serves as link with faculty Organized by the Student Association officers to promote the welfare of students, the Student Council provided various programs and activities throughout the year and served as a communication link between the students and the administration. During the summer, the SA officers assisted by the personnel deans hosted a preschool Leadership Conference to strengthen leadership abilities on campus. In October, the SA hosted the annual Christian College Leadership Conference with ten colleges represented by 77 delegates. In November, Project "We Care" was launched to stimulate and coordinate students' interests in those around them. In support of this project, the council conducted activities such as the Homecoming chili supper, Sadie Hawkins Week, and a lawn devotional. To relieve the monotony of daily studies, the SA sponsored movies, coffee houses , and lyceums. Prominent lyceum performers were Anne Murray, the Grass Roots, the New Orleans Jazz Band , and the Time of Day. 1. SA OFFICERS. FRONT ROW: Justus, Shipp, Herrington.
