MUSIC GROUPS Academy chorus sets sight-singing as long- term goal Ray A. Wright, director of the Academy A Cappell a Chorus, worked vigorously to assist the 53 members in building character and stamina . A major project for the year was learning to sight-sing. Various drills composed by Wright aided the chorus in achieving this goal. Chorus trips were made to the Dallas area and to Louisiana. Other performances included singing before se rvices of the Thanksgiving Lectu reship and providing entertainment for the American Legion Christmas dinner . The Junior High Chorus, which was made up of students in grades seven through nine, served as a valuable training point for future A Cappella members. 304 1.
