BASKETBALL Fas t finish makes up for a slow start by basketball team After getting off to a slow start, the Wildcats finished their season in a fine manner. They lost only three of their last twelve games. Going directly into the basketball season after eleven football games, the Cats were plagued by a lack of experience and the inability to shoot the ball with any consistency. By using the full court press, fast break, and pressure defense to full advantage, the Cats provided fans with exciting play. Coach Wilt Martin reli ed heavily on the bench, which was except ionally strong this year. The basketball team reached the semi-finals of the County Tournament where they were defeated by Judsonia. Jim White was named to the All, County team. Three seniors provided the Wildcats with needed leadership this year. They were Steve Kellar, Charles Ganus, and Jim White. 292 SUSPENDED in mid·air, senior ~uard Steve Kellar ~ets two more for the Wildcats.
