ACADEMICS Proper perspective of academic goals aids achievement Achievement in academic areas re· ceived its proper perspective at the Academy this year. Students attempted to excel in the classroom as well as in other areas, even though participation in extra·curricular activities often seemed to take time away from studies. Competition among the classes for the most school spirit, ticket sales for the variety show, and other contests appeared frequently. A new course, French III, was added to the curriculum. Relatively small classes gave students the opportunity for personal attention from the faculty members. CONCENTRATING with the alto section, Kim Kellar rehearses a new piece of music. 269
