FOOTBALL Bison team places thirteen standouts on two honor teams Thirteen Bison players were chosen for members:lip on honor teams. Nine were from the offensive team, while four came from the defensive squad. Named to the 1971 NAIA District 17 All-Star team were split-end Ronnie Peacock, guard Jerry Cook, tailback Alan Dixon, and defensive halfback David Lumpkin. Honorable mention honors were given to Edd Eason, Rick Brown, and Tom Ed Gooden. On the 1971 AII-AIC team, were Clarence Hicks, defensive noseguard, Cook and Peacock. Cook and Peacock were NAIA All-Americans. Ten Bisons were picked for honorable mention on the AII-AIC team. Senior linebacker Terry Brumley, halfback David Lumpkin, and safeties Randy Brubaker and Gary Hunter were chosen from the defensive team. Selected on offense were Dixon, Gooden, Eason,flanker Harry Starnes, center Mike Clem, and tight end Steve Clary. Peacock finished eighth on the all-time college receiving list with his 20 I career catches. 191
