BASEBALL Frustrating year for team despite high-quality play The Harding baseball team completed it s season with a record of 15-11 , with the majority of its losses occurring in conference play. Coach Johnson's crew included several excellent hitters and pitchers, but there was no consistent play by the members of the team. Freshman Marv Francisco was the only Bison ballplayer named to the AIl-AlC first team. He also attai ned the honor of being chosen to the All-District 17 team. Catcher Denny Dotson, pitcher Ken Merritt, and third baseman Jerry Moore were selected to the AII-AIC second team. Previous All-American shortstop Roy Steele led the team in batting with a .333 batting average, wh il e Francisco compil ed an impressive 5-1 pitching record.
