SPEECH AND DRAMA GROUPS KHCA gains affiliation with ARN Upon beginning its sixth year of operation, radio station KHCA came into affiliation with the Arkansas Radio Network. Students were afforded a wide range of experience in broadcasting, sales, and commercial production, while being offered credit in a Radio Lab speech course during their staff work. A new emphasis was this year placed on the "Rapid Radio News" and nightly "Instant Information" program. Regular popular music programs highlighted the year. Joining the Harding organizations for its first year, Harding Productions pre· pared bi-weekly fifteen minute programs for Pepperdine University, Abilene Christian College, and Freed-Hardeman College, three sister Christian institutions. Their programs dealt both with direct reporting of Harding campus activities and events of broad general interest. Research for the programs offered qualified students in any area of study an opportunity to do research and writing in their field , thus encouraging creative work appealing to students on other campuses.
