BASKETBALL Hustle is the key as Wildcats end up with a record of 21 ~3 In his second year as head coach, Wilt Martin used his famous full -court press and fast break basketball to produce a 21-3 record. The Wildcats were taller than many of the opponents they faced and used th is to the best possible advantage. Outside shooting was a factor in the 1970 Cats' offensive threat, accounting for nearly half of the total points. Sticky defense held opponents to a 51-point average as the W ildcats averaged 64 points. In th e County Invitational tournament the Wi ldcats placed second after defeating Rosebud and Pangburn. At the Christian High School tournament in Searcy this year the vVildcats walked away with first place after defeating a tough Dallas team in the finals. John Vines and Tim Ramsey made the all -tourney team. The Wildcats suffered defeats in the County and District before the f inals.
