Under the direction of Coach Hugh Groover, the 1966 Bison tennis team had a 7-3 record and placed fourth in the AlC Tournament. The points scored by David Elliott and Mel Gambrell in singles and Gambrell and Jerry Reaves in doubles led the way to the respectable tournament finish. The 1967 team, coached by Bob Knight, promised to be a real contender in the Ale. Sophomore David Elliot, who had developed into the number one player the year before, raised Harding's hopes for the next three years.
