ORGANIZATIONS Service clubs readily welcome the opportunity to aid others Members of the H arding Academy Future Tlomemakers of America enjoyed an eventful year in 1965-66 under the su pervision of Mrs. George ITobby as sponsor. Among the activities we re initiating new members, being host to the di stri c t federation convention on th e H a rdin g campus, having the annual banquet, and selecting a projec t to which each student could make hi s own contribution. Students who are m embers of the National Thespian Society receive the opportunity to advance in dramatic arts in th e secondary schools. A Christmas play and a three-act spring play were thi s yea r's projects. Under the supervision of Mr. Mason, the Academy Citizenship Club is a strong voice in our student body and wields an important influence ove r student life in th e school community. Creating better relations between the student and teacher and making and carry ing out inlportant deci sions al so arc part of the duties of thi s club. Sponsored by our busin ess instl1.lctor, Bill Diles, the Future Business Leaders of America is an impOl'tant organization in the Academy, although presently inactive. Selected from th e membership of the club arc several different types of teams which participate in state-wide competition. Much success was atta ined thi s year with some of our students winning top ratings in the sta te. Three service clubs active at the Academy are the Junior Key Club, Senior Key Club, and Junior Civitan Club. Selling fruit cakes and having a car wa sh are the annual projects of the Senior Key Club. Similar projects arc held by the Junior Key Club and Juni or Civitan Club for the purpose of raising money for the betterment of th e Academy fac iliti es. 239
