BEGINNING OF SCHOOL WHILE Otis Edge looks on, Dormitory Director Jerome Barnes fulfills one of his many duties as he assigns James Dockery his room in Grad Dorm. Excitement pervades campus as school reopens A unique combination of frustration and anticipation invaded the Harding campus for the annual beginning of school rush, which is exciting to freshmen and new students, while the older ones view it with sort of despair and resignation. Returning to a campus where many friends and memories have originated is a thrill for students of previous years. Meeting countless new friends, learning about dormitory life, attending mixers and receptions of all kinds, standing in endless lines and taking a battery of brainracking tests are strange, memorable events for freshmen. That first week of September with its divers activities ends with the start of the search for academic knowledge as classes begin and the myriads of reading and writing assignments are made by seemingly cruel and harsh professors who "think their class is the only one."
