However, excellence in any th ing is not easily found and cheerl eading is no exception . The measure of precision and timing achi eved by thi s year's cheerleader s was th e result of many long hou rs of prac tice with session s each a fter - noon. Memphian Vick ie Mitchell l ed thi s yea r 's squad with charm and dedi ca tion in getting th e most out of the other w illing cheerleader s. The often demanding schedule left the ch eerleader s breathless and beh ind in studies, bu t they wer e always at the Bison games stimula ting spirit with cheers for a v ictory. Tragedy almos t stiuck once during the yea r for the squad and sponsor Dr. Pryor in the form of a highway accident en route to an out-o f-town han game.
