The Harding chapter of the Student National Education Association, a professional organization for students who plan to teach, has a busy yearly program. An early drive for membership resulted in a record-breaking 207 members . During American Education Week in November the members set up a very successful display in a local store window. Representatives attended a Drive-In Conference at Southern State in Magnolia and also an SAEA luncheon in Little Rock in October. Filling stockings witll candy to take to colored deaf children in Little Rock was a Christmas project. The state convention was held on tlle Harding campus in March. Regularly monthly meetings gave the students an opportunity to hear professional educators lecture and to hear other programs of interest to future teachers. Gaylon Lamb, chapter head, was also 1964-65 state president. IADIO CLUB. FRONT ROW: Hillis, Taylor, Knight, Hudkins. SECOND ROW: Hunter, Ulrey !sponsor), Hawkins, Simmons. KHCA, Harding's radio station, began broadcasting in the spring of 1965 under the direction of members of the Radio Broadcasting Club sponsored by Evan Ul rey. The technical equipment has been set up in the basement of the Bible building. The activities of the Radio Club serve to provide experience for its members in the various phases of broadcasting and technical work. Phi lougeia has been organized for pre-med majors to stimulate their interest in the field and to promote furth er study.
