HISTORY AND POLITICAL GROUPS • current affairs History clubs promote interest In Trips to Saint Louis and Cincinnati were made by students in the American Studies group in their gaining knowledge of our nation through firs t hand experience with business, industry and government. The topic chosen for discussion this year was "America's Future." Outstanding speakers from the campus, the business world, and other colleges and universities addressed the group concerning the American way of life. Selection for membership in the School of American Studies is based·upon academic achievement of individuals in the fields of history, social science, and business. Making their appearance for the first time on campus this year were two student organizations: the Young Republ icans and the Young Democrats. Being election year, both clubs were quite acti ve in striving to promote the interests of both parties. The Organization for Conservative, Academic and Political Action is mainly concerned with informing the student body about major current issues of political, economic or social nature.
